Italian Restaurant

Where the Inner Harbor Meets Little Italy"

The year was 1937, when Enrico Velleggia - not long removed from Porto San Elpidio, his native city in Italy - opened a tavern on one small part of what is still our present site. Instantly the tavern became the gathering place in Little Italy and "Miss Mary" Velleggia began to feed her delicious original dishes to her husband's customers. Very shortly her favorite dishes became theirs.

The passage of time has brought about many physical changes. The little wooded tables are gone, but no matter what modern changes have occurred, her recipes are still the originals.

Velleggia's is now 70 Years old as of July 4, 2007. Thanks to our customers, we have become a Baltimore Tradition.
It is now our turn to give back.

Velleggia's is inviting you to join us in our
